County Fair Craft Competition!

This is a competition challenging you, the Crafter or Artist living in Hopkins County, Kentucky to strut your creative stuff, support our annual Fair, and win a $50 gift certificate to the craft store of your choice!

The County Fair Craft Competition is being held to promote participation in our local Hopkins County Fair here in Kentucky and the creative spirit.

Disclaimer! I am not associated with the Fair in any way, shape, or form. I am sponsoring this challenge in the spirit of promoting crafting and creativity in the area as well as participation in local events.  We are a talented community and I don’t believe we show it enough.

1. To begin, the challenge will only be available for Hopkins County.

2. The Challenge start date is August 2nd 2009 and the end date will be the last day of next years fair (the last week of July) – probably 7/31/2010. As soon as the Fair Board makes a decision I will post it here.

3. All projects must be started and completed within the Challenge start and end dates listed above.

4. Those wishing to participate must email me their information (thepaperfox.net@hotmail.com ) and a list of the categories they are interested in creating projects for (list below). At least 1 in progress photograph must be supplied for each project (while it’s in progress – not after the fact).

5. Any project rejected from the Fair will also be removed from your final tally.

6. The Challenge is to create, finish, and enter as many projects as you can into the Hopkins County Fair in 2010. Projects must be accepted by the Fair Personnel in order to qualify and 1 Project per category per person is allowed (which follows the fair specifications as well).

7. The prize will be a $50 gift certificate to the craft store of the winner’s choice (such as Knit Wits, Hobby Lobby, JoAnne’s, Michaels, Enchanted Yarn & Fiber – I may even consider Lowe’s as well – these are just suggestions).

8. Rules are subject to change at any time. All changes will be posted here (http://www.thepaperfox.net/county-fair-craft-competition/ ) as soon as I decide on them.

9. Projects must be the sole work of the individual submitting it for judging. No collaborative projects.

10. This challenge is offered in the spirit of fun and creativity.  There will be only one winner and only one prize (coming out of my pocket people!) – so let’s have some fun!  

 Only these categories count towards the gift certificate.
